This will be the fourth year of working with the Mick Extance Experience and the multi-award winning 4 star Lake Vyrnwy hotel. Located in close proximity within the Berwyn mountains of North Wales they lie in the heart of some of the finest riding roads in the UK and in an area of astounding natural beauty.
On the first day of the tour we meet in the Shropshire Borders taking a route via the Wenlock Edge with coffee near the River Teme and lunch in the Elan Valley. The ride continues deeper into the heartland of Wales taking you on some of the exceptional roads that the region has to offer on our way to our hotel overlooking the iconic Lake Vyrnwy Reservoir. You will have an opportunity to take in the views of the lake from the terrace before we sit down to an excellent evening meal in the Tavern Brasserie.
On the second day you will enjoy a fabulous day of off-road riding in the heart of the Tanat Valley, riding through the forest tracks and over mountain tops which offer stunning views. This day is personally hosted by Mick Extance and will be tailored to your requirements. It is open to all abilities whether you are experienced or a complete beginner. Mick sums it up perfectly by saying "all you need is a taste for adventure and a good sense of humour!!" Whatever your skill level, everyone benefits and may even discover skills that will aid your road riding. That evening we have private dining with the hotel chef preparing a menu which showcases the best that Wales and the region has to offer. Mick will join us for dinner and will deliver a presentation on his seven years of experience competing in the Dakar Rally.
For the final day of our tour and following a hearty breakfast overlooking the lake, we ride through the Snowdonia National Park. As we ride over the Berwyn Mountains you will be able to "look left" and catch sight of the forests you rode through on day 2 before we ride via Bala to morning coffee in the Vale of Ffestiniog. We continue to ride through the foothills of Snowdon with a lunch stop near The Horseshoe Pass before arriving at our dispersal point for the tour on the outskirts of Oswestry.
