3: Weekend Tour – South Wales 27th to 29th July 2012
About the Tour
We head into South Wales for this motorcycle tour staying in the wonderful town of Carmarthen which is based on the River Towy. This town is reported to be the oldest in Wales but has a modern feel now being home to the University of Wales. The stay is for 2 nights Dinner, Bed and Breakfast. Breakfast is buffet style, whilst Dinner is in the restaurant where you will be able to choose from a 3 course set menu (3 choices per course). The hotel has a fitness centre and sauna to relax in at the end of a lovely day riding out in the surrounding area.
As with all our tours it is the riding which we are all about and getting out on the roads in this wonderful part of the UK. For those who are not able to join us on our Mid Wales tour in April you can ride with us to explore the southern edge of the Brecon Beacons National Park, including Betws Mountain near Ammanford, ride through the lovely market town of Llandovery home to the “West End” café which always holds a welcome for bikers. The beauty of this part of the world is similar to many parts of Wales in so far as you have the mountains to explore but also some stunning coast line. There is the coastal town of Aberaeron and you can head south towards Cardigan. Cardigan Bay is known to be home to bottlenose Dolphins and who knows you might just spot some as we ride our way along the coast.
We will head further south into Pembrokeshire and the tiny seaside resort of St Davids which is in fact a City. This tiny City is located within the Pembrokeshire National Park which is Britains only coastal national park and is also home to the resorts of Tenby and Saundersfoot. We have Pendine Sands to visit which was where Malcolm Campbell broke three land speed records and where you can visit the Museum of Speed to see the vehicles he used.
So much to see and do and all on two wheels, what better way is there to spend a weekend?
